Jim has worked in the New Zealand music scene since late 2002 when he finished his diploma at Whitireia Polytechnic. On completion of his diploma he went on to study at Massey University now known as the New Zealand School of Music, where he graduated in 2005 with his degree in Jazz Guitar. During his time studying he intermittently taught at Whitireia Polytechnic and now teaches there full time. Jim has performed in Jazz combos, Covers bands, Rock and Reggae groups and is currently pursuing Old Time Country music and Bluegrass. Jim is an avid learner and a passionate teacher of music and is actively writing and recording his own material. He currently resides on the Island of Rarotonga where he regularly performs. He is currently composing material for his latest project in honour of the prominent deceased figures who have helped make the island of Rarotonga what it is today. Jim has a degree in Jazz Guitar, a diploma in Rock and Jazz and a certificate in Rock and Commercial music.
